We are seeking a dedicated Parking Enforcement Specialist to join a municipal team in Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County. This is a part-time 3 days a week, Monday through Fridays. 8:30am to 3:30pm. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with parking regulations, promoting safe and efficient use of city streets, and maintaining order within designated parking areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to operate parking enforcement technology effectively. This position offers an opportunity to serve the community by supporting traffic safety and parking management initiatives through outdoor work and active engagement.
Your Day
Enforce parking regulations by issuing citations for violations such as expired meters, illegal parking, and unauthorized zones
Patrol assigned areas on foot and via standard passenger vehicles to monitor parking activities
Use parking enforcement technology to record violations accurately and efficiently
Write clear, detailed reports on daily enforcement activities and incidents
Assist motorists with basic customer service needs, including providing directions or information about parking rules
Manage conflict situations professionally while maintaining safety and security standards
Navigate city streets effectively to cover assigned patrol zones within designated timeframes
Collaborate with law enforcement officers when necessary to address serious violations or security concerns
Maintain outdoor work readiness by adhering to safety protocols and working in various weather conditions
Your Experience
High School diploma. Military, law enforcment or similar background a plus.
Prior experience in outdoor work environments, especially in transportation or security roles preferred
Knowledge of parking regulations, city street navigation, and parking enforcement technology systems if preferred
Strong report writing skills for documenting violations and incidents accurately
Ability to operate standard passenger cars safely and efficiently
Basic math skills for calculating fines, citations, and other enforcement-related tasks
Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with the public
Experience in conflict management to handle tense situations calmly and effectively
Demonstrated ability to walk extensively during shifts while maintaining alertness and safety awareness
Commitment to security standards and adherence to city policies during outdoor assignments
